The projectCommunity-based ecotourism in Chi Phat and Trapeang Rung communes aims to support protection of the natural and cultural resources of the area and create job and income opportunities for villagers through the development of community-based ecotourism products and activities, providing training and alternative livelihoods to hunters, loggers, and non-timber forest products (NTFP) collectors, as well as improving commune infrastructure and public facilities.

Chi PhatThis village is situated 17km upstream from Road 48. It is a small secluded village allowing you to immerse yourself in the relaxed Cardamom lifestyle. Opened in October 2008, Chi Phat's CBET has set the standard in the country, providing a wide array of green activities suitable for all ages and skills, from experienced mountain bikers to people seeking relaxation in a calm and comfortable lodge overlooking the river and enjoying a bird-watching tour or a sunset dinner cruise. The Chi Phat CBET project has 12 guesthouses. A guesthouse has at least 2 rooms, independent from the house’s owner’s. Bathroom facilities consist of a sitting toilet and a bucket shower. Homestay Sothun Lodge: Bring your jungle adventure to a whole deferent levelThis has been recently erected on a small island (around 1,500m from our CBET office). The rooms are equipped with modern shower, western toilets, mosquito nets and fan. This place has a nice drinking and dining area overlooking the river, ideal for relaxing and bird watching after a swim in the river. Get there on a bamboo raft ride to feel its tranquility. Trapeang RoungThis dynamic and enthusiastic community will make you feel welcome. If you want to experience the Cambodian way of life, this is the place for you. Multiple waterfalls, dense forest and river rapids are just some of the sites of interest you will find. Trapeang Roung's trails cover a large area, giving you the opportunity to spend more time in the jungle and get a real feeling of adventure. Accommodation Trapeang Roung The Trapeang Roung CBET project has 8 homestays. A home stay has only 2 double rooms allocated for visitors in the local family’s house. Bathroom facilities consist of a sitting toilet and a bucket shower.

Directions To Chi Phat
Chi Phat is located on the Stung Phipot (Phipot River) about 20 kilometers upstream from Andong Teuk village on Road 48 – the main road linking Phnom Penh with Thailand, through Koh Kong Province.
To get to Chi Phat you will have to travel to Andong Teuk village (2nd bridge on Road 48) by bus and from Andoung Teuk to Chi Phat by boat or motor taxi. The journey from Andong Teuk to Chi Phat by boat is a scenic river trip passing mangroves and forested mountains.
Transportation to Andong Teuk village:
From Phnom Penh: The bus departs Phnom Penh at 7:45am from Psar Reatrey (Night Market) on River Side to Koh Kong town and arrives in Andong Teuk village around 11:30am.
From Sihanoukville: The bus departs from the central bus station at 8:00am for Koh Kong town and arrives in Andong Teuk village around 11:30am.
From Koh Kong Town: The bus departs from the central bus station at 8:00am to Phnom Penh and arrives in Andong Teuk village at around 10:30am.
Check with your guest house or travel agent for additional information about bus departures and ticket reservations.
Remember to ask your bus driver to drop you off at Andong Teuk by the bridge.
Transportation options Andong Teuk - Chi Phat - Andong Teuk:
By Boat:
You can book directly through our office or ask at the bridge to arrange a boat for you. The boat journey is $22 for a medium boat (max 6 passengers) and $35 for a big boat (max 20 passengers).The journey from Andong Teuk to Chi Phat by boat takes is a 2 hours scenic river trip passing mangroves and forested mountains.

You can book directly through our office [link to Chi Phat booking] or ask at the bridge to arrange a motor for you. The journey is $7 per person and takes about 45mins.
To Trapeang Roung
Trapeang Rung commune is located on Road 48 – the main Road linking Phnom Penh with Thailand, through Koh Kong province. Trapeang Rung is at the third bridge on Road 48. Ask the driver to stop you at CBET office.
From Phnom Penh: The bus departs Phnom Penh at 7:45am from Psar Reatrey (Night Market) on River Side to Koh Kong town and arrives in Andong Teuk village around 12:30am.
From Sihanoukville: The bus departs from the central bus station at 8:00am to Koh Kong town and arrives in Trapeang Rung commune at 12:30pm.
From Koh Kong Town: The bus departs from the central bus station at 8:00am to Phnom Penh and arrives in Trapeang Rung commune at around 9:30am.
